just got done installing an alarm and remote start in a 2006 gmc yukon using a dei 457gw to interface with locks, security, door trigger etc. ive got the green wire from the 457 module tied in with my alarms neg. door trigger. IT DOESNT WORK. i dont have a neg. trigger when the doors are open, and i had this same problem on a 02 trailblazer yesterday, however on the trailblazer i was lucky cause it had an underdash light i simply grabbed door trigger from. on the yukon however you have to run wires into the door etc. ive read previous posts with other people having problems with this module and tried their suggestions adding a diode on the modules ground wire, but that didnt help me either. does anyone have any other suggestions? are other people having these problems with door trigger? Im about to tear back into my install and try a new module, if that doesnt work im SOL today.

The directions that come with the 457g are crap.
I have a feeling you didn't connect the grey/black from the 457G to the positive domelight wire in the car. The 457G takes the (+) domelight wire and then outputs a (-) signal which you connect to the alarm brain.

whats the sense of having a data bus interface thats suppose 2 do everything if u still have to grab a door trigger wire? it seems that dei releases these interfaces that are half ass , im getting fed up with dei. i had a 555h yesterday that wouldnt learn a honda key properly, so i installed a trilogix piece and it worked on the first try.

I recently started my own shop and use only Trilogix pieces. I got too frustrated with DEI pieces not working at my previous employer.

guys if you READ the sheet that comes with the 457G you'll notice "as already mentioned" that this module requires you to grab the domelight postive and it will convert it to a negative out.... this is exactly the way it's predecessor worked, the 456G.....they dont try to hide this even though it's not a great way to do it.... if the customer leaves the domelight override on he just defeated his door trigger

i use the XK01 which does the front doors and tailgate on data.. as well as everything else.....   the one problem i have occasionally encountered with the XK01 is that, because it is a re-flashable module, you can corrupt or improperly flash it when using the Tech II scan tool to delete DTC's or program on SPS.....

there are advantages and disadvantages to both modules.... for straight RS installs i use the 457G, for security & RS installs i use the XK01.....

if you hook up all your wires from the 457gw correctly and arm the car, there should be a yellow security light on in the dash. basically the door triggers will work after the light goes off approx 60 seconds.  if you can't wait the 60 seconds, then you need to grab all the door triggers at the doors and diode isolate.
