Alarm keeps falsing

Hi,

I have a Selca FC 6.19 alarm fitted to my car.

It has door pin, hood and trunk sensors and ultrasonic interior sensors.

It is fitted to a VW Polo and seems to go off all the time after a little while being armed.

I turned the sensitivity of the ultrasonics down but still it goes off.

Any ideas guys???

how old is the alarm? could be the hood pin switch not seated right any longer. does the interior light stay on in the car?could be the door pin if so. bad connection in the alarm harness, or just a faulty brain.

i would take a visual inspection of what will trigger the alarm off hood pin switch,door pin switch,trunk , try unpluging the shock sensor. make sure the ground for the unit is good. meaning check all connection for the alarm. make sure a the compents are working.

what type of vehicle? does it false same time every time?  if it does could be sleeping bcm pulsing back the brain, which needs to be diode isolated.  just a thought

Polo will use separate door tiggers, in each door. Fiode isolate appropriately/

I'll check the hood pin switch and the ground connections and get back to you. The alarm is new out of the box and seems to operate everything OK apart from going off randomly.

There is your problem. Once the car goes to sleep after being locked, the CCM (Comfort conv. module) will pulse, and the Domelight circuit is one of those circuits.

To get around this, you can do 2 things:

1) Go directly into each door and do your connection at the doorpin wire before it goes into the door computer. Diode isolate.

2) Use a relay on the domelight wire. The pulse that the car is falsing with is pretty low amperage.... not enough to trip a relay. Wire your relay like this:

85- domelight wire
86- ground
30- ground
87- negative door trigger of alarm

I think the domelight wire you tapped into is positive. If it is a negative trigger, then put 12V to pin 86.

Hi Gus,

I connected the negative door trigger input on the alarm to the negative wire that supplies the dome light when the door or trunk is opened.

As the Polo is a 1998 model the dome light is a simple one eg. turns on when doors/trunk is opened; there is no stay on delay when the doors are closed and also when the central locking is operated by the remote alarm it does not turn the dome on when unlocked or off when locked...so very simple.

The alarm itself is also simple with only door/trunk; hood pins and ultrasonic trigger inputs all negative. No voltage drop sensor or shock/tilt sensor.

So I'm very confused as to what's setting it off.

Try disconnecting sensors one at a time to see which one is causing the issue.
