There is an old post regarding this, but I couldn't post to it. The Rear Window Defrost Relay looks like this, from the Ford Technical service CD.
Pin 1, Circuit 186 (BR/LB) - Relay Output
Pin 2, 1009 (O/Y) - Relay to GEM
Pin 3, Not Used
Pin 4, 298 (P/O) - Ignition (Hot in Run)
Pin 5, 688 (GY/LB) - Battery (Hot at all times)

Hope that can help someone

ya there have been a few topics on this and they have been mechanical switchs that require the contacts tobe pushed in, because the coil of the relay couldn't do it. the way it looks on your though its not a mechanical switch. you can tell by if you have to push it in and you here a click and again to disengage it. if its not, then on pin 2 you would need to send a neg. pulse to it if the specs are right that you listed above then that will turn on your defrost and the timer should take over from there.
