I am attempting to install a remote start add-on module (Omega RS4-LX) to the security system (Pursuit 9232) that came to my vehicle.  The factory immobilizer is intact and I also have the Toyota/Lexus bypass kit.  Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the bypass kit wires, also, the location to make the connections?  I know these connections are between the ignition switch and the ECM, but where is the best location?  Also, what are the proper wire colours?  Thanks for the help!

Ian

sounds like you need instructions for your bypass.

We just did one today. DB-PKT from Omega and it worked perfect.

I am installing the Omega RS-4LX remote start with the Omega DB-PKT. Where do you make the bypass wire connections? At the ignition harness or at the ECM (if ECM, where is that exactly)? I certainly do not want to disable my vehicle by screwing with the wrong wires!

You should go read about a 2002 Camry on Sounddomain.com in Security sense where the guy hooked up the bypass incorrectly and fried his factory transponder....  $800 fix.

If you do not have the experience, I would take it to a shop to have installed.

the wires you need to tap come directly from the factory transponder system coming out of the key cylinder.

I have a fair amount of experience with wiring, just not with Toyota 4Runners specifically. I was hoping someone had a wiring diagram or something for the 4Runner, none of the wires seem to match the Omega DB-PKT instructions. If anyone has a verified list of wire colours for a 2001 Toyota 4Runner, I would appreciate it.

The one I did today did, I used the DB_PKT also.  It did not match ......  the instructions were wrong.  The instructions for the HIGHLANDER were the ones.  The wires match the highlander perfectly.
