just put a unit in a 2003 explorer (4door w/ V8) and the remote start wont work. The vehicle has the wire colors similar to an '04

battery ---yellow

ignition---RED / lt. green

starter-----red

accessory--dk. green / lt. green

I havent hooked up the accessory wire (didnt have the right color info when i was working on it) but I would assume that it would still start without it..no? I'm usin a DEI 555F bypass and it's getting power when starter activates.  Any suggestions?

oh, and i forgot to mention that i can't rule out a defective bypass, because i didnt have time to try the remote start with a key in the ignition.....

what model RS are you using, and is there no response from the car when remote started? or does it try to start and then die after a second?   and i'm pretty sure you need the accessory wire hooked up

Yes Acc. wire does need to be connected. It does more then just turn on the blower motor. Other possibilty is PATS bypass.
