I had my Viper 2 Way Alarm/Remote Start/Keyless Entry installed at a Best Buy a few years ago...keyless and alarm worked perfectly, remote start didnt...they adjusted it to deal with Glo Plug delay and set everything to what seemed like perfect specs...the installer was a friend of mine and knew what he was doing...the car would crank, but it would not start...

we contacted DEI and they told us that there is a generic Mercedes Part that needs to be installed in order to electronically control a vacuum line that controls Fuel into the engine...you see, when the key is in ignition and in ON position, a valve opens that allows fuel to enter engine, when shut off, that valve closes and cuts fuel sorce, hence shutting off engine...

well, this part was orderred and installed, remote start worked for close to 3 years with no problems...recently, it has stopped working, thinking it was that valve, replaced it, didnt work, replaced the vacuum line, still no good...

my question is this...if anyone is familiar with this type of install, there are 2 wires that go into this valve controlling mechanism, where do they connect to the Remote Start device? are there generally any fuses on these lines? car works fine without remote start, even if i have the car running and I hit the buttons on the remote and remove the keys, the car shuts off...that valve does not stay open...

any ideas???

thanks..
Mario

I called DEI and they gave me the run around about how they do not offer Tech Support to consumers...

If anyone has any info, any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it...this is my first winter in a long time without remote start...

thanks
Mario
