My windows have been running slow lately, I read on here that replacing them is probably the best choice, but my brother had his worked on and he said the guy just sprayed some lube in there, on the track i guess - and it worked a lot better. But i remember it being some sorta silicon lubricant, does this sound right?

is it a spray or out of a tube? I am going to get some tomorrow. Do i just put it on the track? what is my application strategy here -------------

Spray.
I bought a 1991 Acura Legend used and the owner told me that the express down feature worked fine--I must've not pressed it hard enough or something during the test drive. Well, he LIED! He knew that switch assembly was broken and cost over $300.00.
I installed a window control module ($50.00) and got express up and down, both front doors, but the windows would stop midway when it was cold. First I cleaned the tracks with a screwdriver with a rag over the end and some light duty cleaner like formula 409 or something. Then I bought some silicone spray and lubed the run channels real good--even opened up the door panels and lubed the tracks inside the doors. No more problems. You gotta use silicone. Any other lubricant will attack the rubber and break it down, which is not good in itself, but it will make a gooey mess that will only make the windows work WORSE.

I lubed up the track a bit, and took off the door and did some cleaning and lubing in there. It goes down a lot faster, but is still struggling on the way up - however it is getting better. Let me know if you guys have any other words of wisdom! -------------

I've had luck by disassembling the motors and cleaning out the graphite dust left by the motor brushes. It made an incredible difference.

Just idle speculation, but is there any counterbalancing spring mechanism that could be adjusted?
Or maybe the track needs adjustment, in case the window's getting skewed when going back up in the channel- Do you notice any sideways play in the window?
