does anyone make a transponder interface that will learn with only 1 original key, besides the piece of crap dei 555f ? the vehcile is a 1997 ford taurus. i know astroflex had modules back in 99-00' that would learn the codes, however i dont remember if they worked with only 1 original key.

Check out BypassKit. They have several data transponder override kits which don't require the two keys for programming like RF bypasses usually do. Not sure if they have one for that car, but the site's easy enough to navigate. ------------- C Renner's Auto Electronix

Check the owner's manual for the car. I believe that for 1997, you can program more keys with only one original.
I agree that the 555F wastes a lot of time; I would just get an ordinary key-in-the-box bypass, and put a blank Ford key inside.

I agree, i won't use a 555F. Buy a key on Ebay for 15 bucks, have ace cut it for free and program yourself. Get a 556u...

I'm with Chris on this one. You should be fine with 1 key on that old of a Ford and the 555F stinks.

Try Bypasskit.com and the PKF-1. Only one key to program and four wires to hook up right in the plug for the immobilizer system. I have quite a few of them in the shop. Let me know if you want to try one.
