You guys were great with the install that I was working on last night. Now I have a 2004 Honda Pilot that I am installing a remote start on and having problems.

PKH2 bypass seems to be programming okay per instructions and wiring went fine... I've tried reprogramming it several times just in case and it seems as though it will fire for about 1 second after I reprogram and then it quits and will not even fire again.

Car starts fine with the key. Programmed for rpm mode so it cranks for quite awhile.

I've got a ground going to keysense wire which is triggered when the acc. wire goes to 12v. Have also tried it without this in the circuit with the same results.

Any ideas?

does it remote start if you just insert the key in the ignition cylinder, dont turn it forward. just remote start it? if it does, then you know you have a transponder interface problem if its not remote starting with the key out of the cylinder. call tech support at transponderbypass 877-212-8058 they are very knowlegable and are always willing to help out, thats your best bet for the quickest help.

Just gave it a try again and it will start & run remotely if the key is in so it is definetly a transponder interface problem. I'll double check wiring etc. but it did program correctly etc. and everything seemed okay per the instruction sheet when I wired it. Only potential conflict in the instructions was that it advised that the Red wire (data) was in position #2 when in fact it was in position #5. All other colors were there, just seemed in backward order from what the instructions indicated for position # on that connector.

Any other ideas?

My 2002 Accord wouldn't start if the transponder was activated through a ground signal provided by a relay that ran off of IGN. It absolutely had to see the transponder PKH2 BEFORE ign power. I only had to hook up ground, synchro, and data wires--and a 12v positive so I don't think it used a keysense.

Try running your keysense circuit directly to ground, not routing it through the ACC and see if it starts. It may need to see the key before it will allow anything else to happen. If it starts that's your problem and you need to get this turned on quicker--before everything else.

One more thought.

Your ACC wire goes dead when the starter cranks.

If you've got the keysense activated off of that the car thinks the key is removed and won't recognize a bypass.

IGN wires stay hot during cranking.

What's wrong with activating the keysense off of the groundout during remote start from the RS unit?

Good thoughts, thanks for your input! I did call the tech guys over at bypasskit.com and they were pretty adamant that I probably just need to try programming it with the Gray (valet) key. Didn't have access to that key during the install but will give it a try when I can get the key.

If that doesn't do it, I'll start experimenting with the keysense timing etc.
