Viper 550 HF Alarm - does not chirp during arm/disarm

The car is definitely not in valet mode, since I can take it in and out of valet mode and see that the red light is not steady.

I have the manual downloaded from this website, and I can definitely make the alarm go off, but I never get a chirp.

When programming (to ensure chirps are turned on), I never get a chirp, and I've gone through the programming routine a dozen times - no chirps ever.

If my siren works, shouldn't my chirp work also ?

Any other ideas to help me out?  Loose wire ?  Anything ?

Chirps can be disabled in the siren so you siren may still be going bad.

What are siren-only replacement costs like?

I mean, how can you fully test out your siren's full functionality - I can set it off, but how does that really test the chirp or whatever sounds might not be working ?
