I have a new truck and I pulled the old Advantguard out of my old truck. I wanting to know whats the best alarm system on the market right now. Is it still Clifford or has DEI with their Viper system beat them out?

The "best" for you is the one that meets ALL of your needs.....including cost!

The rest is just a matter of opinion.....Myself, I wouldn't have a clifford on ANYTHING I own!

See....just my opinion

What I have is a old Avantguard 4... The car battery leaked and destroyed the siren. I was told today that it would cost about $120 to replace it. Whats the going cost on the AVG 5 system and what features does it have above the AVG 4 ?

There are four shops local to me that carry Clifford parts and they all are at the same price. Its a "Smart Siren 4" What ever that means ...... but if I can buy a new system for like $300-$400 ill just go that route...

DITTO...........
Also, some Alarms are so overrated that some of the CHEAPIES are just as good.

Its not the alarm, its the install.  You can get the best (insert most expensive), but its not worth the box it came in if its not installed properly.   And like mo12v said.... if they want it, they will find a way.

Of course.. I HATE ALARMS!!  Might as well just have a fake flashing red light on your dash.  IMO   :)

SO now im trying to decide weather or not to get a new "Smart siren 4" for my current Avantguard 4 OR to just buy a new system ..... ill also have to locate a new wire harness for the AVG4 due to a jackass dealership moron who just yanked the alarm out messing up all the wires. Ive been looking at the Python881XP alarm ........ ALSO... does anyone know the diffrence between the AVG4 and AVG5 units? Is there really a big change in the systems?

Thanks MO......

If it's made in Korea, or China.....It's made in Korea or China......

save a dollar.....buy the one that's the cheapest.     It's only as safe as the thief want's it to be.

If it has a shock sensor, flashes the parking lights, and goes nut's if you open the doors without the remote...........YOUR SAFE........

didn't mean to start an arguement over brands lol
i do scyteks too and find them a decent enough system for the price
the install is the main thing make sure all the angles are covered.

but i do think he should try for the siren somewhere else the price seems too high to me
