I am having a hell of time with this.  If you have to use the same wire for the door trigger and the dome light how do you isolate them from each other?  How is it different if you have a positive door trigger and pos. dome light output, or negative door trigger and pos. dome light output  Thanks for the help.

all depends if you have a negative door trigger or positive door trigger and negative dome light or positive dome light. usually the alarm has a built in relay or you add one for the domelight. what you are doing is the alarm sends either a neg or pos signal to the domelight depending on what setup you have. the door trigger doesnt come into account because when you disarm the car the alarm is turned off so there wont be a false trigger. basicly all the dome light feature is doing is making the car think the door is open when it is closed.

Why would you have to use both the door triggers and the dome light on the same wire?

Ok, why? If it's for door trigger, use door trigger wire. What reason is there for needing the dome light wire after that? If your adding supervision it wouldn't be on the same wire....
