I have a 1996 Honda Civic EX. The power door lock module went out in the driver side door and therefore neither driver or passenger door will lock/unlock automatically. I have an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry already installed. I am considering installing aftermarket door lock actuators and relay instead of replacing the door lock control module. I've spent hours searching the local junkyards for an OEM door lock module and can't find one, been looking on Ebay for 2 months with no luck, found one website that has an aftermarket module for $90, but both aftermarket actuators with a relay is only $21 on Ebay

I have the same aftermarket/keyless system on my 2001 Silverado and when they installed it I had them install aftermarket actuators because the truck only had manual doors. I've had no problems with them. I was going to hook the same type actuators to the Civic instead of paying the $90 for the module. The only difference is that the Civic has a switch on the driver's side to open both doors.

Will it be a problem hooking the 3 wire switch on the Civic driver door to the 2 wire actuators so that I can use the keyless entry or the door switch to lock/unlock the doors? Does anyone see a reason I shouldn't go the cheaper route and save the $70 by using the aftermarket system?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

you can make your own control box with two relays wired up for aftermarket actuators and use your stock actuators. or if you alarm has bulit in relays for door locks you can use that also.

or maybe say stock and i could send you the module. all you need to do is send me a pic of it and we can settle if you like for a fraction of either option you have.
