Just over a year ago, I installed for the first time a Viper 791xv in my 2000 Honda Civic Si. Just the other day the parking lights, fog lights, and interior lights (cluster, climate control, etc.) stopped working. The part that gets me is that they all come on when I arm/disarm the alarm.
I've checked every fuse both under the hood and the dash. I pulled apart my interior to get to the alarm fuses and both were intact but the outer casings were slightly melted. The fuses are close to the heater vents so I assume that is what caused them to melt. I replaced them and nothing changed.
I don't see how the wiring would be faulty, I took care to solder every connection and all of the lights work, just not in normal conditions. Only when they flash on arming or disarming. Before I start digging into all the wiring that I took such care to hide, I wanted to know from someone with more experience if this a common problem or if someone has come across this before.
Sorry about the long post. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Will

When you installed your Viper system, did you cut the parking light wire or just tap into it? If you actually cut it, maybe it has come apart from the switch to the lights, but not from the alarm to the lights??
