Hello all,

I just purchased a used 2001 Dodge Durango R/T model with a (or what appears to be) passive alarm system (it has the transponder key).  It came with a Karr 2040A alarm system.  This system is quite irritating and I would much rather have just factory stuff.  (Keyless and the passive? security system)  Maybe in the future I will have a remote starter added, but currently cannot with this system.

Does anyone know, is this system easily removed or for now just disabled?  I called the dealer and they won't touch it because its aftermarket, and I can't find a Karr dealer around my area.  (The truck is the from west coast, and I am in Ohio.)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Blake

i would suggest if you have no prior experince with 12volt then get it to a pro. but it sounds like you have a knlodge of the system. whats stopping you? when removing an after market alarm you need to remove all after market equipment and reconnecting to it origanal position via solder and proper insolation.
