Installed Remote Start on 05 Colorado.....with IB-PLXR 3 days ago.
Everything went fine...........Now, within 30 seconds of turning Off Ignition Switch, Vehicle will  Remote Start......but if you wait longer, it will NOT Remote Start.  Everything Powers Up, but when it goes to Crank, it just clicks & the engine lite on dash stays on.
Tried another PLXR, but same problem..........
Any ideas???

make sure you dont have an acc wired as an ign..... it needs to see the acc drop out in order to crank....

Thanks for the Reply........

Everything is wired correctly......
It was working fine for 3 days, now the Remote Start will only work right after you remove the Ignition key........
It really has me confused ( again )
Changed the Remote Start, the PLXR, & went over wiring & Programming 4 or 5 times.............CRAZY.........
Gotta be something simple

Are you positive you are getting constant 12 volts to the plxr???  Also make sure of  a good solid ground..

Yep..........
Have double checked everything
Even changed both units.............
Remote Start will start after turning off Ignition switch ( within 1 minute ) after that, Remote Start just goes click when starting to crank & Engine light stays on until i restart with key
Does anyone have the correct hook-up for PLXR so I can verify wires .??? I cut the White / Blue and hooked in PLXR as I have on other Colorados

Are you using the Passlock ground or a chassis ground for the PLXR ?

Black to Chassis Ground
Brown to Remote Start Status Ground

It actes like no Passlock, but I have confirmed it comes on under Remote Start.
I also made the PLXR come on and Started with Key, which should verify that the PLXR is Programmed........

1st time I have had this problem.....

Problem Solved..............
Guess I was just to quick on Programming the PLXR
I had to hold the Ignition Switch in the CRANK Position, and Press Program Button within 10 seconds.......

THANKS ALL for the Replies & Help...........

i had the same problem with a 2005 colorado...i did not use  the plxr, i use 2 relays and the resistors that directech tells you to do..with the one that i did, when you stick the key in the ignition and then go to remote start it, it works fine....take the key out and after that, it will continue to remote start....but, when you start it with the key, the remote start doesn't want to work until you remote start it with the key in the ignition again.  i am in the middle of talking to several people trying to figure out what the hell.....the only thing i have figured out is that some of these vehicles work like a charm and others.....there are gremlins in the passlock....i have done a couple of colorados since then, and haven't had an issue. sooo, if you figure out something, i would LOVE to hear it.....

I know that this did not help your situation...but, i just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.......lol

anyway...good luck

kim
