1998 Chevy Z-71 Remote Start

Bought a JCWhitney www.icdynamics.com remote starter with keyless entry.  I've browsed all these tech articles to find wiring diagrams and such because I'm intent on learning and installing this myself.  I've accomplished the 4 main wires for ign1, ign2, starter, and accessory.  I still have to run the (2) 12v power leads, and the line to the plug wire.  Then I have to hookup the 10wire harness which has some odd wires.. and unfortunately the passlock II bypass box.  Should I just drop these wires into the solderless splices I used for the 12ga wires?  The passlock bypass has lines that need to go to ign1, ign2, and i think starter, so I'm wondering if i should just pop the clips and add them into the splices?  Also I need to wire in the indicator light, the push pin for the hood, and the pushbutton for programming.  I'm lost as to where the drivers kick panel is for my truck, I cant find the box that runs the door locks, because when I got the truck it came without the keyless entry remotes, well the starter control module includes keyless, I just need to know the location of the door lock wires.. if I had a picture of their location it would make it soo much simpler.  I've read they are right under the steering column and they are at the driv kick panel.  I dont know, I know the wires are light blue and white but thats about it.  Can someone shed the light as to where this is, and if i should splice the passlock ones in with the large gauge wires?  Anyone got some pics for location, and I'll have to put in the 2 relays to run the door lock/unlocks wont I?

I don't recommend you use any kind of splice connector. Ideally solder all your connections unless you know how to properly splice wires. You can strip offabout an inch of insulation of the wire you want to tie into and pierce the bare strands with a pointed tool or pic. Thread your wire you intend to splice through the hole (like threading a needle) and then wrap the excess around the bare wire. Tape up the connection. For main power use the thick red battery wires in the ignition switch harness under the dash. The driver's kick panel is the panel to the left of where your feet rest while driving. It is somewhat triangular. It is held on with clips and pulls off towards the passenger side. You can find the door lock wires there inside the hole in the steel in a connector. You may also find them at the door lock relay clipped above the gas pedal. If your truck did have factory keyless entry then your door locks should require a postive pulse. As for your Passlock wires, I recommend that you install a fuse holder on the main power inputs for the interface module. The main power fuses are to high to safely use for lighter gauge wires that the module uses. Yes you can use the same wires in the ignition harness.
