Do the door locks. Car arms with lock, disarms with unlock. Locks are over on the passenger's side, top of the fusebox. Test using the passenger's switch. Make the starter unlock before crank, lock after.
As far as tach goes... there will be a blue wire on a connector taped to a harness on the driver's side of the engine compartment. That is your tach wire.
The parking lights should come on with remote start and stay on if you hooked them up.

Shouldn't need relays. They are negative trigger, most alarms out there have negative door lock outputs.
Did the parklights come on before the remote starter was installed?

The parklights wouldn't happen to be flashing 7 times, would they? Sounds like the unit is in service mode (been about 3 years since the last Ultrastart pice that I have done)

Using the programming switch on the antenna, disarm the system. From the sounds of it, it came out of the box with no transmitter programmed, and armed. Nice.
You will need to disarm it using the valet switch, make sure it isn't in valet mode, then program the remote to it.
