Ignition wires

• I am in the Uk and most of our vehicles have a +15 ignition (live whilst cranking), and an auxillary ignition ( for heater, wipers, lights etc). I have noticed that on some of your wiring diagrams for engine starters that you mention 3 ignition wires. Do some US vehicles have the main ignition split by 2 wires?? - I'm not understanding this fully - can someone explain...

• We do not install many remote engine starters as they are generally pretty poorly designed ( relying on the alternator warning light to extinguish to tell the starter to stop cranking...no tacho sense). I would like to offer remote starters in my new company launch but wondered how you guys go on with the on-board transponders immobilisers fitted to vehicles these days. As a rule, what is the main method of overriding these and is it a simple process.

• On the remote starter subject - the last on I fitted used a push button, when activated it would stop the vehicle doors from unlocking on disarm and then engage the engine starter. How are your engine starters normally triggerd - by an extra remote channel I presume.

• Can anybody recomend a universal engine starter that may be suitable for importing to the UK.

• 3 rd ignition wires power certain control modules that need to be hooked up otherwise you will get those annoying dash light going on after remote start. Some cars have the 3rd ignition to power anti-theft modules, ABS, power accessories, etc....
• Some of the newer transponder bypass modules that we have are soooo simple. 4 wires and your done ( no need to cut anything either !! ) Many more new advancements are coming out daily whcih makes our jobs as installers easier. We use the 4 wire system on all of our GM vehicles and they are priced reasonably in comparison to others that require 5 times the install time and set up.
• There are many variations of remote starter out on the market. The most common are the remote starters that use it's own remote control ( as opposed to the types that use the OEM remote control or an alarm remote control ) and these usually bypass the OEM remotes ( you can still use the OEM remotes but why ?? ).
• Everyone has their own preferences as to which companies are a good company. We deal with several companies that all offer price breaks, warranty and tech support for all the products that we distribute. You have to find a certain one that will be easy for you to install and still get tech support and warranty when problems arise. With you being in the UK, the shipping for units such as these will not be cheap. I have sent items to the UK ( about 10 lbs ) and shipping was about $ 30.00 USD. The shipping duration was about 3 weeks - 4 weeks on this just in case you wanted to know.
