Okay, so three times in the past week I have had Jeeps (2 - 04 Grand Cherokees, 1 - 05 Liberty) lose their factory programming after programming a Directed 555C or 556C for immobilizer bypass. I have NEVER seen this but now the more I read on the more I see these systems have problems. I am sick of paying the stealership for factory reprogramming and it is obvious that the new sentry keys with the remotes on them don't fit in the 556Us. Does ANYONE have a clue how or why these problems keep happening. The vehicles work fine when I pull them out of the garage with keys or RS, but as soon as the customer goes to leave or gets home it seems like the stuff just begins to go all haywire. I even have a Liberty here now that will remote start, but the factory keys won't work.....the car will just die after being turned over with either of them. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I don't want to be the type of ghetto shop that tapes the keys to the SKIM and then makes two keys without the Sentry programming in them for the customer to use. -Christopher ------------- MECP First Class

Okay, the Liberty was fixed. Apparently the old batch of 556Cs I had really was old. I guess the first batch produced was not properly shielded so even when the relay was not activated it still put out the signal. Replaced it and fixed it. The GC we believe the guy had the key in the ignition with the remote on that key and the other key in the same hand he hit the start button with when he attempted to remote start it to show his wife as he was leaving here. I think the vehicle saw all three signals at once...screwed up the whole thing. But man these systems are finicky. I have heard that the Mobil speedpass devices can mess the SKIM module up even. I guess this has just become a reference post.

If your using a universal bypass module, make sure that the Sentry system doesn't see two keys otherwise you get the no start from both the keys and I'm not sure why the keyless would go all wierd on you seeing that it's not part of the Sentry system.

I'm not using a universal bypass (Never do), the keyless did nothing (I didn't even mention that), and as stated I got all the solutions worked out........

If I use the Universal bypass(556U) I tag the key sense. I've seen many times the customer leaves their keys in the ign. or customers enter the vehicle, put the key in the ign. then drink their coffee or smoke a cigarette. I also came across this problem with the 555C and 556C. DEI needs a keysense wire on these as well.
