Hello, I am installing a Bulldog Deluxe 62 Starter/Alarm in a 1989 Ford Bronco. I have the wiring diagrams for both and was just wondering if someone could be a little more informative on the door lock situation.
I understand that with reverse polarity I need to break the circuit between the switch and motor to insert the unit. (Instead of just adding in the wires to the circuit.)
Could someone help me as to where these wires are located and how will I know the proper place to break into the wires at. (After switch before motor)
Any help greatly appreciated.
The wire are located at the passenger kick panel and you are correct as saying that you grab them between the swtich and the motor.

ok, Jeff, here is a stupid question. You say passenger kick, well, how do I know that i am between the motor and the switch. (sorry for the stupid question.)
Good question...at least I think so since I'm sort of in the same boat. I have the kick panel in my '90 Taurus opened up like a bad cavity and the harness located. Thing is that it's the driver's side. (should I be on the passenger's??) Anyway, I too would like to know how I would know which end is to what and so forth... For the moment I've assumed that the wire leading towards the door is the switch and away from the door is the motor...or vice versa- heck I don't know, that's why I'm here ;)
looking forward to the responses!

Most manufacturer's have the BCM or RKE module in the cabin of the car. What happens is the switch wires go to the BCM/RKE and from there it switches colors ( which is also referred to LOCK MOTOR wires ) and goes to the motors. If you find the wires in the boot, chances are this is the wire between the switch and the motor. The only time this is not the case is when the manufacturer decides to put the module in the door ( Honda Civic 1998 + ) but then Honda doesn't use a 5 wire system ( Thank God )
