04 accord oem alarm disable

Hello.I'm new to the forum. I have a question regarding the proper way to disarm the factory alarm. I've used the search function and the answers there don't exactly fit my query. I want to install an aftermarket alarm but want to permanently disable the oem alarm. The other threads in this site refer to problems with the remote start function of aftermarket alarms, I'm just going to install the alarm that's it. I've read here to send a negative pulse to the white wire on the driver side door (I only see a red and white wire which as I've also read here is the factory arming wire). Do I have to send a negative pulse to both the factory arm and disarm or just the (white) disarm? or is this just for the remote starting? what is the best way to disable the factory alarm? I heard that having both alarms causes problems and might even affect the ecu.Thanks for your help.Your replies will greatly be appreciated.

all you should have to do is ground the disarm wire that should leave the alarm disarmed permantly try and see if you have a good ground in the door if not run a wire through the grommet an groun in the kickpanel

don't cut the wire it may also control the locks

Definately not a good idea. Grounding the white wire isn't the answer. The white wire is the key cylinder unlock wire and this will make the doors not unlock on the second time you turn the key to unlock. Do it the correct way and run the white wire to the unlock wire on your alarm, then double pulse it. You can run the WHITE/ red out if you wish and use that for disarm. You will find these wires in the door traveling between the key cylinder and the lock module...

Understand an OEM alarm and an after market alarm serves the SAME PURPOSE and only differ on the function available to each. We all have different taste and requirement. I will not question you for the reasons of putting in another alarm when you already have one existing.

Further to Mike M2 advice, the disarm wire is negative BLACK/ red to white and is located in the driver door module in door switch. Put a ciruit safe test light on that wire. Put the key in the door cylinder and turn the key to unlock your door. The test light will blink. That is your disarm wire. Send a negative pulse to it will allow you to disarm the oem alarm.

guys, now i'm kinda confused. I was gonna do it but i chickened out. let me 1st calrify a few things.

    so, i don't cut the white wire i just tap into it and send a line to the unlock wire of the alarm. is that correct? what do you mean by double pulsing it? since you said "if you wish" on the WHITE/ red wire, does that mean i don't have to do anything? what you mean by running the WHITE/ red out? and to where?

    my accord does not seem to have an alarm, it seems to be just a keyless lock/unlock since no matter how long i press the arm/lock button whether twice (according to the other threads this is how to test this type of alarm) or more or even if i hold it down. However, when i do press the lock button the arm light in the dash flahes red and i also get the three blinks on the signal lights.anyway, i just wanted to make sure to protect my investment inside the car eg. tv,amps,subs, etc.
    the negative black RED / white you're referring to, is it the same WHITE/ red that mike mentioned ( i only saw a WHITE/ red wire and no black on it)? how about your opinion on the white wire?

You could have just avoided all the fuss and used a databus interface

Why throw away the car's alarm that you've paid for? Integrating with it is easy anyway.

--Find the pink/black and pink/blue wires at the green plug in the fuse box....... those are your lock and unlock wires........test them while operating the PASSENGER'S doorlock switch.

--At the power window switch in the driver's door, find the white wire.... and I think the other one is WHITE/ red? Anyway, test these wires while turning the KEY (not the switch) in the driver's door.

Then the rest isn't too hard:

--Connect your RS/alarm's "factory disarm" output to the white wire in the door........this will shut off the factory alarm whenever you go to unlock OR remote start the car.

--Connect your RS/alarm's "unlock" output to the pink/blue at the fuse box.......... you may have to enter your RS/alarm's programming menu and set it for "double-pulse unlock" to get it to work consistently.

--Take your RS/alarm's "lock" output, and split it with two diodes, so you now have two outputs isolated from each other-----------if you're not familiar with what diodes are all about, read the article on this site.

So anyway, now you have two separate lock outputs because of the diodes........ one goes to the arm wire in the door, and the other to the pink/black lock wire in the car.

P.S. The white disarm wire in the door also serves to roll down the windows.
If you tied it permanently to ground, the windows would open.
And if you simply cut it in half, you could NEVER disarm your alarm without the factory remote.
So neither of those ideas would work out very well.
