ok guys   there are 2 wires at the light switch which are gry /blk, one is straight   one has spiral stripe leading to straight and is on top  other is on bottom of the plug, which is the parking lights?

I can't get my lights to flash when remote starting, I 'm using  -neg at the pin in RS,  maybe need a relay?

It will be the one with the purple next to it.....

If all else fails, what does you multimeter tell you when you check the grey/black wires as you turn the switch from off to the parklight position???????????? It's one thing to just be an automaton and blindly hook up wires to wherever someone tells you to, it is another to actually know and understand how to look for these wires properly (leave the test light at home...... use a DMM).

if you open the big loom under the column, the first wire you see is the brown, test it and you'll see......

i was born under a lucky cloud.... more often than not if there is a green wire listed and 30 of them in the location listed i usually  get it on the first or second try.....   if you open the split loom facing towards you on the ST6's (Envoy, TB,etc) the brown wire right on the edge is a hair thicker than the other browns and is the Parking brake wire....

Hey KGERRY. If your that lucky, can you buy me some lottery tickets? There are about 6 dark brown wires in that harness and I always seem to have to try them all before I find it. Thank god for volt meters.

Man, it's just too easy to get the gray/black at the switch. I've never tried anywhere else, it's just too easy....

Look for a dark brown wire in the large loom of wires that exit the vehicle through the firewall that tests 12V positive when you turn the light switch on to parking lights only. You should not need to use a relay as long as your RS wire for the parking lights is positive output.

If you want your headlights to flash and then stay on after remote starting(instead of just your parking lights), tie into the white wire at the headlight switch - it's a negative wire, so you will need a relay to switch polarity if your RS parking light output wire on the RS is positive.

The easiest and fastest way that i've found getting the parking lights on the a lot of the newer GM trucks and SUV's is to go right to the switch harness under the dash: there are usually 2 grey/ black wires one is for the negative parking lights and the other is for the domelight wire.

I agree that the fastest way to get to the parking light wires is at the switch. However, if the RS you are using has only a positive output wire (and does not have dip switches, etc. that allow you to choose/switch the polarity), or a 5ma negative output, then you have to use a relay to reverse the polarity. Too much trouble - just another place for there to be a potential problem. That's why I go for the positive brown wire when the RS is a cheaper unit.

If your using a R/S that only has a + out for parklamps,I use an NTE 128 transistor.Tie the collector to the gray/black wire at the switch. The emitter to ground and put a 15-18k 1/4 watt resistor on the base lead.then tie the other side of the resistor to your park light wire on the R/S.Cheap fix no relay hassles.
