I have installed a Audiovox remoter starter/security system on my 2006 Tahoe. I've spent a few days installing it and now I have run into a road block. 2 issues...

1) I can't determine which wires to tie into to control the door lock and unlock.

2) The remote starter will start the truck, but then the factory security system engages and kills the truck instantly.

Now there are 3 wires in the remote starter that should handle this issue.

The first send a signal 1.5 seconds before start (I hooked this up to disengage the factory security system). Works perfect.

The second will send a signal after remote start shuts down to lock the doors.

The third sends a signal during start. This is the one that should override the factory security system, but I don't know where to tie it in.

Can someone help me?

Best thing to do is get a Qualified Installer

Otherwise............
If you would use the CORRECT ByPASS for this vehicle it would help .........
OMEGA makes a ByPASS that incorporates the PassLock &  Door Locks, not to mention Other Features that would make the Install a LOT easier

The Audiovox system I have should have the correct bypass. I just don't have any instruction on how to tie it into my truck. Audiovox install instructions are poor at best. So I had to do a lot of research to install what I do have. And so far, everythings working right.

I just need to know how to tie into this stuff... where to find the wires, etc...

I think you're confusing a factory alarm disarm output with an anti-theft system bypass.  The Audiovox is equipped with the first, but not the second.

OK. So what do I need?

And how do I get it?

Here's what Audiovox says...

Black w/ Yellow Trace Wire: Ground Output During Start (Crank)

The Black w/ Yellow Trace wire will provide a 300 mA ground output while the starter output of the remote

start unit is active. This output can be used to activate the Crank Low/Bulb Test wire found in some GM

vehicles. This wire is also referred to as the ECM wake up wire in some vehicles.

NOTE: The outputs above are low current outputs and must be used with a relay if the circuit's requirement

is more than 300 mA.

2 Pin Transponder Control Output: (Orange Connector)

This output is intended to allow the control of a transponder bypass interface module or transponder

bypass relay. The system also allows software selections to control the way in which this output

operates, see remote start feature # 10 for setting this output.

When the unit is selected for output during the start sequence, this output will be active at the same

time Ign. 3 becomes active, and will remain active until the vehicle has started. This will be used for one

time read transponder circuits.

When the unit is selected for transponder on, this output will become active at the same time ign. 3

becomes active, and will remain active all the time the unit is operational under the control of the remote

start. When the unit is selected for continuous and the vehicle is started via the Remote Start, this

output will become active at the same time ign. 3 becomes active and will remain active until the ignition

in the vehicle goes low. This will allow the unit to be used for continuous read transponders circuits.

That is for the Operation & Connection of OPTIONAL ByPASS that you WILL need for that vehicle..........

It would be worth it to you to have a Professional Install

I called Audiovox and they told me I have to buy the bypass module like you said. They also told me that I need a databus module to unlock and lock the doors.

Does anyone know which modules  I need to buy?

Why is it worth it for me to have a Professional Install?

I already did the hard work, I just need to get over this GM BS.

Use a dei 457G module and all your worries will go out the window.

you can bypass the Key with a Resistor, but you will need a bypass kit for the locks anyways. I think you should use the crimestopper GM-SL This unit is made for your truck. I have them for 50.00= ship

I also will send you all the wiring colors you need

Well, too late, I already paid $64 for a 457G. I hope this will work.

Let's see...

Black = ground (not under dask)

Red  = constant 12V

Gray/Black = (+) dome light

RED / White = N/A (trunk release)

BROWN / White = panic (I won't use this)

LIght Green = alarm (-) lock

Blue = alarm (-) Unlock

Violet = ODB II Plug Violet, pin 2

Blue/White = alarm ground output during start (crank)

Green = alarm door drigger input

Pink/Black = Ignition side / PK wire

Pink = Module side/PK wire

Someone once said I can use this module for heated seats. How's that?

You don't use the pink/black and pink wires on your vehicle.

The heated seats will turn on when it remote starts below a certain temperature. You don't do anything to activate it.

my GM-SL would turn on the rear defrost and seats if the motor temp is 0 or below

My current remote start (without the 457G installed) shows the Security Light during remote start and shuts down the vehicle. Are you sure I don't need the pink/black and pink wires?

Yes, I'm sure. I use these all the time. The pink/black and pink wires are for cars with Passkey III.

Yes, the GMDL-BP will shut down the RAP.

The 457G will shut down RAP as well..... on some vehicles, it also will do the illuminated exit.
