Can someone tell me how to wire the 508d field disturbance sensor into  my viper 791xv.  I understand that I can tie the blue and green wire from the 508d to the green wire on my shock sensor plug with no diodes, and it will work fine. What I would like to know is, can I tie the red and black wire from the 508d into the red and black of the shock sensor? If not, where is the best place to tie these in?     Also can someone tell me is it beter to mount the 508d in the floor console or roof console?

You can put the red wire on the shock sensor and put the black wire on the "ground when armed wire." I had that installed in my car but took it out from too many false alarms.

I have a 2000 Dakota, auto. Just installed a viper 791xv remote start / alarm. Vehicle starts fine with key, but when I remote start it the gear indicators (PRND21) all highlight at one time, instead of just the (P) being highlighted. At the same time I here some kind of buzz in the dash or under the hood and my engine light comes on. I shut down vehicle right away because I don't want to burn something up. As I said vehicle starts and runs fine with the key. Can anyone Help?    ps:   the code the engine light puts out is something like  (inputs / outputs malfunction.)

vehicle dark blue wire = alarm pink wire.    vehicle pink / black wire = alarm red wire.     vehicle black / orange wire =  alarm orange wire.       vehicle black / white wire = alarm pink wire.    vehicle red wire = alarm red wire.    vehicle yellow wire cut : Yellow switch side = alarm green wire.   yellow starter side = alarm purple wire.    Alarm is viper 791xv              (All these vehicle wires are at ignition switch)

According to my tech sheet you need to change  these.

Vehicle balck/orange = alarm pink/white

vehicle BLACK/ white= alarm orange

There is also a GREEN/ red wire in the truck that needs to be powered as an ignition. You will have to build a relay and trigger it with the little pink wire thats in 4 pin harness.

Thanks for the info!   But I Didn't have to switch the BLACK/ orange & BLACK/ white wires they can both be programed to be ignition wires.  You did lead me to the problem, that little green and red wire.  For anyone that has the problem with the gear selector highlighting all gears at one time, here is the fix.  All diagrams for this truck keeps showing a GREEN/ red wire at ignition switch harnness. Where the harnness plugs into the ignition switch there is no GREEN/ red wire. I didn't think I had this wire on my truck.   But it does!!!   There is a little micro switch on the side of the main ignition switch that feeds power to the gear selector lights. that is where the little GREEN/ red wire is: All I had to do was run a jumper from the Dark blue ignition wire to the litte GREEN/ red wire and PRESTO no more problems!!

do not run a jumper... as suggested to you, use a relay and do it properly !!

these circuits are isolated from each other for a reason.....

Can anyone tell me what the zones are on a 791xv viper as far as led flashes. I have both the owners guide and the installation guide and they have two very different table of zones. (example:  Owners guide says zone 1 = instant trigger - hood pin.    Install guide says zone 1 = multiplexed input - blue(H1/6). Can anyone tell me which table is right or give me a list of the right zones           ps. (zones = the number of times the led will flash when activated.)
