what is used for this child safety door lock system? diode OR resistor

The black pieces are diodes, but that is not the correct diagram for your Tundra. Hopefully someone will come along with a link to the right one.

That diagram is for the 4 door Tundra only. If it's a 2 door or extended cab you use just negative pulse locks, WHITE/ green for lock and blue/red for unlock with a double pulse.

what size diodes do I use.

just use the 1 ampers, they will be fine

Also, you can use 12V from inside the door, you don't need to run it. Use the large blue wire on the back of the switch mod....
