If 12v are sent through an immobilizer via the wire connected to the transponder ring, can it short a PCM? (PCM is obviously 5v) Can one determine if a PCM has been shorted without using a breakout box? My vehicle is a 1999 Mazda 626 ES. The pcm is a Ford EEC V.

If the PCM is shut off due to repeated starts with a bad immobilizer will the obdII make a read.

Dealer initially read a P1624 and P1602 before clearing the codes. Now there are no codes.
