I know this is basic but I dont want to goof it up...

I need to energize a (+) second starter wire with the (-) 200mA output wire on my DEI remote start.  I know that I need a SPDT relay to do this because 200mA is not enough to energize the second starter wire.  Can someone please tell me what 30, 85, 86, 87, and 87A need to be wired to?

This is the last wire I need to hook up and I should be set!

Thanks in advance!

85 and 87 go to constant +12volts.  86 Goes to the -starter output from the remote start.  30 goes to the second starter in the car.  87a is not used.

If you are using your negative out when running for anything else you need to diode isolate them with diodes or risk a battery drain.

Great responses!  Thanks much for the wiring help!  I have a question though about sparkie's reply.

Do you mean that if I use the 200mA output to energize more than one relay I need to diode isolate each to prevent battery drain?

Could you please give me a little more detail on when you would use diodes and where they need to be used?

Thanks

Your 200ma starter output is what you are using, not negative out while running. You shouldn't need to use the negative starter wire for anything else so i'm not sure what Sparky is talking about. To answer your question tho, even if you were to run two relays off the 200ma negative starter wire you still would not have to diode isolate. Even with the relay sitting in rest position there is no chance of a ground feeding back, so isolation isn't needed.

Now Im a little worried,

I have two conflicting responses as how to wire the relay properly.  cntrylvr79 has it one way.  dea,can has it another way.

Let me be more specific.  I have a 99 Nissan Altima and am installing a DEI562T.  I need to use the small purple wire off the 4 pin harness (- 200mA) to energize a relay to send a +12 volt to the second starter wire.  I hope this helps.  I thank everyone for the responses, but please let me know which ones are correct in my case.

Thanks~!

I dont mean to double post, but I just realized a few of the recent responses are for "how to wire the second ignition".  I am trying to energize a second starter using the 200mA (-) output on my remote start.  Im going to follow cntrylvr79's response unless anyone says otherwise  Thanks all!.
