Compustar 2WSS-S remote starter
2001 Grandcaravan

Before I start this install, I wanted to confirm the connections for the 2nd starter relay:

87 connects through a 180ohm resistor to the PURPLE / brown in the ignition harness.
86 connects to the controller connector 1 pin 5 (+ 2nd starter)
85 and 30 are connected to GND.

Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

Thanks.

87 to PURPLE / brown 150ohm resistor

85 ground out when running with 6amp diode gray band facing unit

86 to yellow wire

30 to ground

on the dodge caravan 2001 1/2 and up ,there is a extra wire present at the ignition swotch. this wire provides a diffrent voltage depending on the position of the in the ignition baril if you install a remote car starter you will also have to change the voltage on the wire or the car will crank and will not start.

One end of Resistor goes to GROUND
Other end of Resistor goes to PIN 87
PIN 30 goes to Ignition Violet / Brown
PIN 86 to 12 Volts ( + ) Constant
PIN 85 to Negative while Starting / Running from R/S

VIOLET/BROWN and VIOLET/ORANGE Must See 180 OHM Resistor Between Them During Start Due To Multiplexing.

Wire Magic says use a resistor 180 to 200 so i used a 190 and it works fine. Use a relay to keep a good ground ( 0 Resistance out to start with then add the resitor after that Yu have prolly has some resistance comming out of the - start from the unit.

Thanks for the information.  As ohiomike1101 stated the compustar unit does have a (+) 2nd starter output.  I'll use that output to switch the relay which will connect the 180 ohm resistor to GND.
