I'm having a difficult time getting the doors to unlock upon disarm. this is a 1997 honda accord se. the factory security system is being run in conjuction with the alarm(if the security sys. is diconnected the car does not start). it works like it's supposed to EXCEPT the unlock upon disarm feature. i hit the arm button, and the alarm locks the doors and activates the stock security sys. but when i hit unlock, only the alarm disarms. i've tried this: https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#3wp but for the negative pulse instead, and nothing, i've even put diodes on the wires going to the lock/unlock wires out of the relay, (and it still only locks) i've tried the programming section to switch the single unlock pulse to a double pulse and still nothing. i got the schematics for the car from themagicone from an earlier post ( https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=3&TopicID=6831&PagePosition=6#thread) and that helped out great. but still having a problem. any help would be greatly appreciated. ------------- It's better to ask a "STUPID" question...than to know a "STUPID" answer. :-)

When you apply a ground ( not from the alarm ) to the disarm wire does it unlock. If not it may be neccesary to tag both the disarm wire and the unlock wire. Use diodes on the unlock wire and run one to the disarm and one to the unlock. It prob wouldn't be a bad idea to use a fused relay either. Also what kind of alarm are you using? Also the wiring diagram is from a program called Techsoft. It is from DEI.

what kind of alarm is being used with the factory alarm? have you tried looking at the wire from the alarm to make sure the connection was not disconnected on the RED / blue wire from the factory alarm

to: auex...if i take a multi-meter to the lock and unlock wires (i mean arm/disarm) i read 4.5 +vdc. but if i take a grounded test-light to the disarm wire it DOES unlock, and also if i touch the arm wire too. i have fused relays connected to both the arm/disarm. i also included diodes to the wires, and the lock/arm works fine. what did you mean by "the wiring diagram is from a program called Techsoft. It is from DEI" is there a brain shcematic to find out what could be the problem? to: trusdamanr... the alarm is a freedom 500 by OMEGA R & D, i tripple-checked the connection, to ensure wire continuity and integrity of connection. I'm thankfull for your replies, i'll take all the help i can get on this one. thanks again fellas. ------------- It's better to ask a "STUPID" question...than to know a "STUPID" answer. :-)

ok then try this take the wire from the alarm thats on the unlock/disarm wire off. put the multimeter on it and disarm the car...it could be just the realay...also do you have the ign controlled door locks on and if so do they unlock when you turn off the car

ok... i thought this was kind of odd...when i put the DMM to a 12v source, and the lead of the lock wire, i disarm it and there is 12.5 vdc . if i do the same test with the unlock wire, i only get 10.2. i switched the connection to the relays, to see if the other relay works...and like a champ it does. about the door unlock/ign off is a programmable feature. i've tried it, also double pulsing out of that output. ------------- It's better to ask a "STUPID" question...than to know a "STUPID" answer. :-)

The wiring guide from the other post you mentioned is from a program called Techsoft. DEI supplies it to vendors. Try this, unhook the drivers side door pin ( should be a screw or 10 mm bolt ) and make sure the other doors are closed then apply a ground to the lock/arm wait thirty seconds and apply a ground to the wire you are using as the unlock/disarm and see if it unlocks. If it doesn't then tie the factory disarm to the unlock wire from the switch and see if that works. Also a double check for the factory disarm wire for most cars is if you take the key and unlock the door at the drivers door cylinder the wire should go to a ground when the key is unlocking the door.
