I have a 1996 Honda Accord and I am installing an Airwolf 20096.  I got everything installed, but when I try to program the remote (by opening the door and turning the key on), I get an error code on the remote saying something about the hood.  I checked the hood switch and the dip switch, and they are both correct.  The hood is supposed to stay closed during programming, and the dip switch is supposed to be off.  When I metered the hood wire to ground, it reads open when the hood is closed, and closed when the hood is open, so I know that it is hooked up right.  Why would my system be thinking the hood is open when in fact it isn't?  Everything else is hooked up.  The only thing that I even think might not be hooked up correctly is the relay for the door trigger.  I'm not sure if I got the door trigger and the dome light connected to the right terminals of relay because I'm not sure which end of the wire is going to the dome light and which is coming from the door switch.  I just cut the BLACK/ white wire in half and connected the end cut side with the 12V to 87a and the side with 0V to 30 (I think that is right, I don't have the diagram up here with me right now).  So any thoughts on what can be causing the system to think that the hood is open?

No, I checked it.  I have the purple wire going to the hood pin.  It reads ground when the hood is open, and open when the hood is closed.

Also, this alarm didn't come with a siren.  Can I connect the siren wire to the horn wire so that I can have the horn work instead of the siren on this car?

Turn the dip switch on for programming. I know the hood switch accomplishes the same, but it may have a couple of ohms of resistance because of bad body contact. Also, the diagram in the manual is wrong for the door trigger. use the diagram under the section for dome supervision.

Disregard what I said in my last post. Your right about hood closed and dip switch off, I was thinking about Tach programming. I would disconnect connector 7 and measure the resistance to ground. It should be infinite, if there is any conductivity, that would cause a hood error. Admitingly its longshot, but maybe your pin is set too low and the hood isn't making contact with it to push it down.
