This is gonna be my first alarm/remote starter install... everything looks straight forward with the exception of the remote starting/ignition aspect.

I will be installing an UltraStarter 4255 remote starter with 2-way alarm. I have a 1997 monte carlo with aftermarket power locks/windows. Theres already some Prestige audiovox alarm (APS510) but i will unhook that before i begin my install.

I have a few questions.

1) Do I have to hook anything up to the factory re-arm output or factory dis-arm output if i have no factory alarm?
2) How do i hook up the "Starter Kill & Anti-Grind Output"? Do i need to buy a relay?
3) On the alarm, there is "Start output" and "ignition output". How do i hook these up?

The alarm info on this site for my vehicle lists wires for; Starter, Ignition 1, Ignition 2, and Ignition 3...  Do I need to hook all these up, or which ones do i need to hook up to the alarm?

Thank you very much!
-Kyle

you dont need to hook up anything for factory alarm.
the starter kill relay diagram is on this site, look under relays.
The starter output goes to the yellow start wire on your ignition harness,The Ignition output wire from your unit goes to the pink ignition wire in the same harness.

Thanks,

I guess the only thing i don't get now is the starter kill/anti-grind..

My alarm has a NEGATIVE (-)250ma output for the starter kill/anti-ground output...

Which starter interrupt relay should I use?

Thank you!!!

The starter relay may not have all the plugs on it if it came with the kit

you should use the basic starter kill diagram.
