The domelight will not shut off on my 99 Suburban unless you start the engine, use the domelight override switch or pull the fuse.
It used to shut off after about 15 seconds. I am thinking it might be the keyless entry module. Where is it located? I want to unplug it and see if that is the problem.
The other thing may be a bad door switch. What is the best way to check them?
1st check to see,,,IM NOT SAYING YOU DUMB or anything like that. but check to see if the dome switch is on.
I think they have 2 diff switches and also it can be programed to do diff things.
This is a -trigger so somthing could be grounding the dome lite to stay on.
Has any1 worked on it? putting a remote start on or any headliner work????
I saw a 99 Tahoe do the same thing- it was the dome light supervision module- mounted dead center in the dash just above the console- it was about $96 to replace- so owner opted for a module from a bone yard- owner ran with the override switch turned on- so the lights would stay off....

Domelight switch (thumbwheel to right of headlight switch) was first thing I checked. You can turn on the domelights with it, even with the domelight override button engaged.
Not aware of two switches, unless you mean the thumbwheel and domelight override buttton. Could not find anything about programing in my owners manual
There may be a door switch gone bad or wire going to ground causing this problem.
Headliner has never been worked on. No remote start. Only electrical work is a trailer brake controller.

This sounds like it may be the problem. Do you have any more info? Part #? How to ID so I can look for in the salvageyard?
Do you know if this Tahoe has keyless entry? Seems someone told me if you have keyless entry it controled the domelight delayed shut off. Thats why I was thinking the keyless entry module might be bad.
Thanks for posting the drawing of the Modules. I assume they are located somewhere under the dash.
The Interior Lamps System Checks would not let me open the links to Abnormal Results. I get a message "Access Forbidden"
