One of the easiest installs you'll ever do.  Everything you need is at the BCM under the column other than IGN wiring which is just above the BCM exiting the column.  And yes you need a bypass for Passlock 2 and there's a hundred different ones you can use.  My personal preference is a PLJX and is made by BYPASSKITS.COM.  Very reliable and easy to install.

I Installed an alarm to a  2000 chevy silverado and now the service engine light turned on and the transmission is acting up. Does anyone know why the light and the trans would start to act up or does anyone know where the computer for the transmission is .  Thanx in advance.

The door triggers I connected from the BCM used tan for driver, orange for passenger.  The tach installed at the ECM.  Also power locks from BCM.  I also installed the factory alarm disarm from the BCM.

Check to see if the white wire in the ignition harness has power on it with the ignition on. This should be in the same plug on the back of the fuse box as the thin yellow starter wire is. You may have blow a fuse under the hood. The white wire provides igntion power to the transmission module and if it isn't powered while the engine is running, the check engine light will come on and the transmission will be stuck in second gear. Resolve the problem ASAP as damage to the transmission will result.

Agreed !! Make sure that you power up the 2nd IGN WHITE wire on this vehicle otherwise you'll be in the market for a new tranny in about a week or two. Depending on the unit, you may need to add arelay for the 2nd IGN circuit.

2003 and newer has the data line linking the 2 computers together not 2002 and older. So it will not work.

GMBP will be very quick and easy, not tapping into security wires at all.

Check all your ignition leads. If one isn't fed it will not shift right after a remote start.
But will if you cancel the RS and start it with the key.
