i just installed a clifford matrix 2 way remote starter and alarm using DEI 457GW and I have 2 problems:

1. When I start the truck with the remote I notice that the heated seats sometimes turns on.  Is this normal when using 457GW?

2. When the key takes over and I'm ready to drive, I notice the message in the car displaying the driver side door is open. This message sometimes goes on and off.  Anybody have any solutions to this problem?  Thank

Both conditions are probably related to the software version in the door lock/Passlock II interface. I have seen similar things like the door ajar message when using different data modules. As for the message it is nothing to worry about. It happens when you use the brake to disengage the remote starter. As for the heated seats, some data modules are designed to activate the seat warmers and even the rear defogger under the right conditions. You may want to check with DEI to see if they have a newer version of that module.

return the module for a newer version or a different module of the same version.

I called DEI tech support and they said the door jar messge is normal when the key takes over. They also said the truck come's with a sensor that when the temp. drops below 0 the heated seats will turn on automaticly. the owner manual does not say anything about the temp. sensor in the truck. Does anybody have any idea how the 457GW suppose to work. DEI tech. support is giving a bunch of running around and they blame it on truck. Please help help. thank

I don't have any answers or comments about the heated seats, but I installed a Bulldog RS-100 in an "03 Trailblazer about 2 weeks ago.

I used a Bulldog 791 to bypass the Passlock II security AND I used a DEI 457GW Data Bus Interface module for the keyless entry. Believe it or not, no problems or conflicts with using them in conjunction with one another, but I did notice that the driver's door ajar display was on for a short time - even after entering the vehicle and closing the driver's door extra hard. It went off when the car was put in gear and while driving, so didn't worry about it. I thought the car was just "overly sensitive" about the driver's door. I'll check with the owner to see if she's noticed that the driver's door ajar disply comes on while she's driving.
Sooo, DEI says it normal - that can't be right !!!
Sounds like they need to iron out a few wrinkles yet.

The only other real issue with this install was the range of reception - approx. 100-125'' max. The RS-1100 has a single wire about 18" long for the antenna. I tied a small gauge pice of wire to it and extended it up the post and across the entire top of the windshield under the headliner. It improved the range by about 50 more feet. Any other ideas on how to improve the range?

both features are normal for the 457G.... the door ajar is normal because the 457G sends a signal on class II telling the BCM the drivers door was just opened shutting off the RAP feature on shut down and the 457G also has a built in circuit that will automatically turn on the heated seats on low setting if the temp is below 0C.... my customers love this feature....

BTW, the antenna is tuned based on the length of the wire, do not add on to it or cut it shorter.....

Okay... first of all, hi everybody!

I started using the 457gw last summer wid viper rs 160, 771 an 791, at least once a week.  Never heard any complaints from customers... seemed everything works for them.  Then I get an 03 tahoe and think "no problem" done a lot of em, right? WRONG!!!

first, the heated seat thing (read that-makes sense)  but then, the perimeter lighting and the lock/unlock wouldn't work.  Disarm would chirp but no unlock, arm would chirp but no lock.  It seemed to stop messing up except for the perimeter lights, so i left it alone.  Now, the locks only work with the factory remote and if u try to remote start it, the factory alarm goes off.  WTF?  Can anyone explain this?  I've done the exact same install on 02-05 tahoe, 03 silverado ss, 03-04 escalades, and now it only messes up in my own friggin car?!
