I bought one of those cheap nitro BMW 2 way starter / alarm. It 's on a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with no factory alarm. It starts the vehicle and after it starts , wants to start it again and grinds the starter 2 more times and shuts off. Green wire from unit is connected to injector wire and is getting 12 volts after a completed start. any ideas ? Still havent figured out the pwr door locks yet..

The "tach" wire you choose to use, should be between 1-5V when read with a DMM on the AC voltage setting.
I suggest either removing that connection, and programming the alarm to voltage sense, if possible. If not, the tach wire in that vehicle is a Gray/White wire at the ignition coil.
The 1996 and up Jeep Grand Cherokees use a Data Link Circuit for the door locking system. You will need to purchase a special module to interface with the door locking system in order to get them working.

The so called manual you get with this system says the "alternator " wire should be 12 volts when successfull start occurs. Thanks for the advise on the locks. I'll just use the Jeep remote for them. I'm using the red wire for power at the ign switch but i see in some posts that they are using the RED / white. Hmmm?

I've installed one of theose BS alarms/rs. A customer brought one in that he bought at a flea market. Alternator wire needs hooked to 12 volts. It is Voltage sense only and does not have a tach wire if I remember correctly. ------------- South Side Audio

I installed one on a Ford Escort, absolute junk, keep your factory remote with you even if you hook up door locks, that unit is unpredictable and pretty much guarantee you'll be replaceing it in the next year or so.

what are the two white wires that say direction indicator for? do they hook to parking light negative or positive? also the brown trunk wire can i use that to operate my window module when i set the alarm since the alarm doesnt have an aux output

I've been trying to hook up this alarm to a 94 Toyota 4 Runner R/S is the only thing I have got to work on this pice of junk system. With everything hooked up the way that it is to be the remote still showing that the door's are open and alarm will not arm. and Yes Alternator wire needs to goto the Alternator or it will not work.
