I am having trouble wiring the keyless entry portion of a Viper 791XV into a 1994 Ford Explorer XLT. I have tried splicing into the lock/unlock wires in the drivers kick panel following the 3 wire positive door lock, and 5 wire alternating 12 volt positive door lock schematics. When the wires are cut and run into #87a and #30 on the 5 wire relay setup I loose power to the whole lock system. I have wired many alarms, but never this style lock system. Any ideas?

I have tried switching the switch and motor side around, it makes no difference.

Thanks!

Nick

If the XLT had factory keyless it would have negative pulse locks. Pink/green and pink / YELLOW. The way to tell is to peel back the LR panel by the hatch and look inside. If you see a black box mounted up high it's the keyless module.

My records show that if the truck has factory keyless entry, then the door lock wires (pink / YELLOW -lock and pink/green -unlock) are a negative trigger and not positive.
