Subject: DEI 514T removal?

I have a 1973 Corvette I bought this fall, it has a DEI 514T alarm installed in it (I think since that is what the siren has written on it) and I would like to disable and remove it. At this time I think the alarm has the car disabled and unable to start. I have removed the rear end from the car and sice I have done this the car will not turn over, but the radio and all other electrical funtions work. I'm not positive this is the problem , but I would still like to remove the alarm since I am restoring the car. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of this or information on how to remove it? Any help would be greatly appriciated.  Would anyone like to have the alarm once it is removed, I will be glad to ship it to anyone wanting it (first one to request will get it), but obviously I need to find out how to remove it. Thanks

That is the Siren Number........
You probably have Starter Disable Relay under dash near Steering Column.  When you remove Alarm, you will most likely find it

dei alarms, just pull the fuses or unplug the brain to deactivate it, newer ones you have to jumper the starter wires

514t is just the siren part number. If you can remove the rear of your car, you should be able to remove the alarm. Just remove the knee bolster and look for the DEI alarm brain. It should be in there or somewhere near the streering column. Yank it and start tracing the harnesses and wires to their destination to remove. A little common sense is all it takes...

Thanks for all the input, I will check around the steering column for the alarm /starter deactivater.  I know I can remove it, just want to do it correctly. Thanks again.
