I installed a remote start in one of these the other day. It worked great but the alarm kept going off so I hooked up a disarm and agian it worked great, now the problem is the headlights/parking lights stay on after the remote start shuts down. The light switch is on auto, if you turn it to off/manual and do it they'll go off. Anyone have a ideo how to get the lights to go off even with the switch in auto?

You can try using the (-) activation parking light wire PARKING LIGHTS --------GREEN/ blue at the steering column. See if this works.

The Toyota automatic headlights don't turn off until a car door has been opened.

If your remote start has a "pulse after shutdown" or "factory re-arm" output, or something similar, tie it into one of the individual door triggers in the car----this should trick the car into thinking a door has been opened, shutting off the lights.

I think the easiest way to go about this would be to unbolt the driver's door pinswitch, pull it out, and note the wire color.  Then, you should be able to find this same wire in the driver's running board somewhere.   This wire may be low- or high-current----you'll just need to use a relay if it's high-current.
