I'm installing a remote start in my wife's '02 Rendezvous and I'm not sure which accessory wire to power. The wiring info says an orange wire, but there are 4 of them. The factory manual lists 3 as battery voltage and 1 as ignition 3 voltage. Only the brown wire is listed as accessory voltage. Does anyone know which orange wire ( I assume the one listed as ignition 3, but I thought it would be a good idea to check first.) to use and does the brown wire need to be powered as well?

Thanks,

Paul

Thanks for the info. It seems the Orange ign wire powers a relay to fire up power to the heater so that looks like a good bet.

Make sure that you use the light blue wire in the light blue plug of the BCM for parking lights. It is the negative switched wire fromt he headlight switch. If you use the positive parking light wire, it will turn on the check engine light.

Thanks, I've got that marked as position A6 on the small grey connector at the BCM. Sound right?

Vehicle notes
PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle is equipped with TRANSPONDER chips in the ignition keys. This system must be bypassed for Remote Starter installation. A keyless bypass module may be available, contact your distributor to find out. If one of these modules is not available to you, see the appropriate security diagram for bypass instructions.
* This wire should not be used to power a remote starter. You can run a line to the battery, or you can find power at the relays in the center console by removing the plastic side panel on the driver's side of the console. See the exploded view.
** This is a 1-wire doorlock system. A 470-ohm resistor to lock and a direct ground to unlock. This wire is located at the BCM in the center console. See the DOORLOCK diagram for exact wiring instructions.
*** Driver's door is DK.BLUE (pin-A7 on Pink plug), DK.BLUE/WHITE (pin-A3 on Pink plug) for other 3 doors. See the BCM diagram for exact pin locations.
**** The Body Control Module is locate behind the center console. Remove the plastic panel on the driver's side of the console to access. See the BCM diagram for exact pin locations.
***** System can be armed by pulsing the doorpin at the same time as lock. If your car starter has an arm wire, it can be connected directly to the doorpin. If you have to use the lock wire, be sure to use diodes to isolate the doorpin and lock relay or the doors will lock every time the door is opened. See the doorlock diagrams for exact wiring details.

Looks like I've got the R/S ignition wiring and the bypass module installed. (Car still runs and I haven't set the air bags off (yet!). I got the tach signal at the PCM connector C1 pin 8. It was less of a struggle to get to compared with the coil. All that's left now is the control and power to the relay satellite. Thanks to everyone for the help.
