Has any one heard of Mobile Gaurdian? This is a GPS type of system. Does Lojack transmit even when underground or metal shipping containers?

We install both. Mobile Guardian is a much better product. Lojack is an outdated technology that survives on good advertisment IMHO. Will a Lojack work in a container? No, neither will MG. The big difference between the two is who is tracking the car. With LJ, the police are, and i've been told several times by our locals that they just are too busy to deal with a simple car theft. Also, not all area police have the ability to track, so if the car is driven far it may not be located at all. It all may depend on where you are located to how good LJ will work for you. MG on the other hand, puts the tracking in your hand right on your home PC and it will work ANYWHERE in the US as long as the car is outside. It relies on GPS, so that does become a problem when inside. MG does give you the ability to disable the car tho which may prevent it from getting to that garage. You can also link it to an aftermarket alarm to give an early warning of theft, like LJ, but obviously the alarm is the benefit here.

what is the price for the MG compared to LJ?

Our cost is about the same as LJ with Early Warning. To me it just a smarter buy. You do need to buy "locates" tho with MG. They give you 15 free finds on your PC, after that you buy them but they are cheap(under a dollar). Still, better than LJ.
