I have a compustar 2wss-as in my 01 civic and i was wondering how i get my radio to turn on when i remote start the car. I was thinking the 2nd accessory wire, where do i tap it to? i've heard it was the purple pigtail on the alarm harness (starter kill wire). but i did not hook up starter kill because i did not think it was necessary.

Yes...you would need to hook up the second accessory.

Question is...why would you want the radio to turn on? Does your car like to listen to music when nobody is inside?

You need to power up all ignitions, and accessory wires when doing remote start. Well I always do.

That's just going to annoy your neighbors when the car's running in the morning, and also if there's a CD playing, you'll have missed a couple of songs by the time you get to the car.

But yeah, all you have to do is power up the other accessory wire at the steering column.

It's a (-) negative output from the alarm.

You mean that your Compustar only has one ignition, and one accessory output? No positive-trigger Ignition 2 output?

They come with a pre-wired relay for another ignition, accessory, or starter. Its not internal. The (-) trigger for the relay is not attached to anything. The Compustar unit has (-) ignition, accessory and starter outputs for triggering other circuits. You need to take the accessory (-) output and have it trigger the outboard relay. I believe the un-attached wire on the relay is purple.
