I am looking for a circuit that will make the headlights turn on automatically.  I was going to use a photoresistor and some relays but i want a delay so the lights dont turn on and off when i go through underpasses and places whe it dark for just seconds

Directed Electronics has (or had?) something like that....... I can't remember the part number.... Nite Lite is the name of it, maybe?

I think Audiovox makes one too.

There are definitely a few companies that make what you want.

I  went to the junk yard and swiped a rear view mirror out of a late 90's Explorer that had it. The morror has all the controls biult in it. All it took to make it work was a couple relays, as the output is a 200ma out for the lights. It also gave me auto dim on the mirro when a car came up behind me.
