I'll be doing one in a week or so for a friend after he gets another key made and gets a window module ordered. I found most of the info by searching the forums, but did not find anything about the wait to start light except for "see DirectFax document 1091." Anyone have this they can post up? Thanks in advance for your help

If you see that document #, it means that the wait-to-start wire is not readily available.
Probably, the truck's underhood engine computer is sending a computer-data signal to the instrument cluster to turn the wait-to-start light on or off......there is no 12-volt wire you can simply tap into.
That document simply instructs you to purchase a pulse timer, adjust it for a certain amount of time, and connect its output to the remote starter's wait-to-start input.
Instead, I would choose a remote starter with this feature already built in-------you would just go into the programming menu, set the unit to wait an extra 10 seconds or so before cranking the starter, and be done with it.
DEI is finally introducing this feature, although Audiovox has had it for years. There may be some other brands that have it as well.

Here's a link to the document you referenced: https://directechs.com/techtips/pdfs/resources/security/directed_techtips/1091.pdf Pretty simple... instead of sensing when the wait-to-start light goes out, use a 528T timer set 5-10 seconds longer than the wait-to-start light is expected to remain lit. The only slight problem I can see with this approach is the wait-to-start light time will vary depending on the air-box temperature. But waiting some amount of time for the air-box heating elements to warm the air is better than not waiting at all. Best regards, John L.

From what I read in the installation manual under wiring the diesel wait-to-start circuit, I don't believe so... https://www.the12volt.com/downloads/file.asp?ID=348 Good luck, John L.

no the 791 doesn't. you'll have to use a pulse timer relay on the wait to start input on the brain to allown the glow plugs to heat up
