My climate control settings are not sticking when I shut the truck off. (my cliamte controls are all digital. No knobs, just buttons) Let's say that I have the heat on at 75* and on the floor and windshield defrost when I shut the truck off. When I go back into the truck (whether I start with the remote or not) the temperature settings are OFF...completely. (keep in mind that I did ARM and DISARM the alarm when I got out, and back to the truck) I don't recall having this issue when the alarm and other goodies where in, (that was only a week, and I didn't really pay attention) so what could be the issue here? Any of you electrical gurus have any idea?

Basically the settings are returning to default everytime the vehicle is turned on, instead of just staying on full heat.

Most the Explorers I have seen do go back to Off when you turn off key and back On

It *should* remember the last HVAC setting before the vehicle was turned off shouldnt it?? Blower fan speed and temperature control should remain the same?
Could this have something to do with the dummy key and the memory signal emitted from it?

The one I just got in the shop does the same thing. It defaults to all off. I haven't even touched this truck yet so I'm going to have to say it's normal operation.

I had the same complaint from a customer with an Aviator, and her husband told me they resolved it, but I'm not sure how.
But, it is likely that the climate-control settings are linked to the two different factory remotes, and/or the memory-seat buttons.
Try unlocking the car with one factory remote, start it, set the climate controls.........then shut it off, and repeat with the OTHER factory remote.
Also, push the button for Driver 1, set the climate controls...... then switch to Driver 2 and set them again.
