I am unable to find the passlock II wires on the 2003 Trailblazer.  Will this cause the starter to not engage.  Usually, the starter will engage and then the security light begins to flash.  This remote start is turning on ign 1 and ign 2 and is sending 12v to the 10ga starter wire, but the engine does not even try to start.  I have double/triple checked all connections.  Since I dont have the passlock system bypassed, I dont expect the motor to crank, but shouldnt it at least turn over a few times?? Please help ASAP!  Thank you very much!!

Without proper bypassing of the Passlock II system the truck will not start. You will need to get a bypass module ( PLDATA is one I would suggest ) and this will bypass the passlock II system. Try placing the key in the ignition cylinder and try to remote start the car and see if this works. If it does, then you know that you have all your wires hooked up properly. If not, then you are missing a connection or an ignition wire is not being properly powered up.

Thank you for replying. I did not have the bypass module but luckily I got in touch with a friend in the business. For others that may be looking for that "sleeve" with the 2 22ga wires in it, it has changed to regular 16ga wire. The trick is that there are 3 yellow wires running up the steering column. The easiest way to bypass it is to just remove the plastic housing around the steering column and get the wires directly off the key cylinder. If you have wondered how to get into the steering column it because of the tilt steering handle, it just pulls out..... (believe it or not!!) You have to pull out on it VERY hard (make sure no-one is standing behind you!!!!!!) and it will release all the sudden. Then just unsnap the bottom portion of the column and you will be able to access the yellow and black wires for the passlock II. Thank you very much for the quick reply. Maybe I found some helpful information for others that were in my same dilema. (did I mention to make sure that no-one is standing behind you when you pull that tilt steering handle off???!!)

Luckily there was no-one behind me, but I kinda smacked myself one good time..... then I had to stand up and look around to make sure no-one saw it.....posted_image
By the way..... the wires are not in a sleeve like the olden days..... and as far as doing the interface with the new door lock system, that was a BREEZE!! I thought it was going to be aggrivating, but just one tap into the purple wire and it interfaced with the alarm easily. Did the door locks, factory alarm, and the remote window roll up all off one wire with about 60 seconds worth of work!! Ya'll take it easy out there!
