hi, i have a 2000 maxima and had a clifford rsx 3.5 installed, but the installer installed the alarm without a print out and couldnt find the trunk release. i'm taking a stab at it but cant figure out how to hook up the trunk release. i tried using a relay but still no luck. i had the alarm's trigger on (85) grounded (86) and (87) and the trunk wire on (30) assuming that the heavy blue wire from secu is the trunk release. i also tried switching around the wires and what not but still no luck.

sorry but i'm pretty much a newbie with alarms

The trunk release is a large blue wire in the drivers kick, you know that already....your problem is how you have your relay wired.....

85 gets your trigger, 86 gets 12v fused, 87 gets grounded, and 30 goes to the blue trunk wire. you will also need to pulse the trunks key sence wire NEG(-)

its dk. grn/black. On the "trigger wire" before the relay connect a wire with a diode in line with the cathode end (the line) towards your R/S. This will simulate

the presence of the key in the trunk, so you don't have to disarm before popping the trunk.

My bro has this car.....this works great

is it wrong to use the large blue wire from the secu? what do you mean by pulse the the trunks key? and what do you mean towards my R/S?

thanks for the help

My charts say that all you need is a high current ground. meaning using a relay you would change the ground or negative signal from alarm from a 200ma output to a stronger High current ground.

I have done this car and dont remember having to pulse the key sence.

The setup is as stated in previous replys

85 trigger input from alarm. 86 12 volts fused
87a not used.
87 ground to chassis
30 Output from relay to heavy guage blue wire going to trunk. check wire with tester when pressing trunk release on remote to make sure it is the right wire. or using trunk release in car. if you need to pulse key sence just take a wire from pin 85 which is the relay input from alarm. and use a diode and connect it to the keysence wire.

So what will happen is the same trigger will trigger relay and the keysence wire if needed. But like i said i dont think that is necessary but then again it has been awhile since i did that car.
