Hey all, just looking ahead to the next install. doing a 2001 hyundai, elantra and was wondering how difficult this vehicle is to install. the paperwork on it seems very simple. But, does anyone know how hard it is to access the ignition harness, or also how difficult it is to get the steering column off for the loop around the ign barrel for the transponder portion of the install. Any previous experiences or tricks for this vehicle would be greatly appreciated.

              Thank-you in advance

Pretty straight forward car...  well the US version anyway.  If the Canadian is anything like the US then the steering column comes off with like 3 screw I think.  Wasn't really paying attention since the ones down here don't have a chip in the key.

if i recall when i put an actuator in the door of one, i mounted it upside down in the top left corner of the door (when looking at it from the inside with panel off) and had to scrap some a big chunk of foam on the back of the door panel. think they also have those stupid harnesses in the door boot. i haven't had one yet i couldn't get through. i think acura dips their door harnesses in vaseline before putting them in the car. anyway, elantra is a real simple car. also i'd suggest using neg park lights

Its also a cable system....not a solid rod....you need to connect at the release by the door pull.

If the car has factory keyless entry you don't have to put an actuator in the drivers door.
