Can anyone tell me how to add a shock sensor to a factory alarm on a 2000 Denali?

I tried to hire an alarm tech and he could not figure out where the brain is for the alarm... My manual says there should be a shock sensor in the console but there is not one, however I do have the factory alarm.

Anyone know where the alarm brain is? What can I tap into??

Any ideas? The alarm is sort of useless without shock and glass break added.

Thanks!!

the alarm is prolly internal the BCM.....it would be smarter to just install an aftermarket alarm

Where theres is a wire there's a way.

you could in theory use a shock sensor that puts out a (-) pulse when it is triggered and just tie it on to the door trigger. I've never seen this done in practice, but I can't see why it wouldn't work. Just be sure you wire it up so it is only active when the ign is off, or the dome light may be flickering when you're driving.

Ok, so I found on the website that door two is the tan wire at the BCM. I found the BCM in the center console with the bose sub. There is a blue and a black plug. I tried attaching , for testing a UA-84TA shock sensor to alot of the wires, and nothing worked?? What should I try??

Thanks!!

Try the tan wire in the drivers door harness.

I take it this will be around or in the drivers door?

Sorry, I don't do this often. I tried to hire some people to do it and they just want to sell a new alarm system to me.

Thanks

Also, I am assuming I need to use the pass door wire as the drivers door has a 8 second delay on opening??

you can use the pass door wire to,as long as it's negetive trigger you won't need a relay. Are you sure the tan wire in the drivers door has the delay? The sheet I seen said that it doesn't.If you look up on the drivers kick panel you should see the harness coming from the drivers door. You can get the passenger door wire in the driver kick panel also(purple).

I'm not sure of anything... I'm a cop, I can cite penal laws, but do not know about this...

I am great with electronics and computers and wire stuff up all of the time, however tracing and know which wire to use out of 1000 wires is beyond me...

I don't even know if this sensor I have is negative or pos...

to check the output of the sensor connect the red wire to a positive source, connect the black wire to ground,The remaining wire is your trigger wire, with a test light connect one end to a positive source and the other end of the test light to the shock sensor trigger wire and shake the sensor,If the test light lights up then the trigger output on the sensor is negetive. If it doesn't light up you can reverse your test light leads, put one end to a ground and the other leave on the sensor trigger wire and shake the sensor,if it lights then the output is positive.Usually if not always they are negetive outputs.
