i need replacement remotes for my motorjoy remote starter, and apparently noone on the face of the planet sells them.
i bought a universal remote and i got it to learn the security code but i can't find the frequency for the starter.
is there any way short of paying 100 bucks or more for a frequency detector that i can figure out what frequency this stupid thig works on?

Have you checked the board ? Sometimes the manufacturer prints this information on the CPU board by the antenna connector.

I don't know about finding out the frequency with the FCC ID#..... but many of the websites that sell replacement remotes, such as www.remotesunlimited.com, ask you for that number on their websites.
Have you tried simply typing in that number, from your existing remote, into one of those sites?
